“Made Myself Poor of Secrets” ('Tis Pity, 1.1.15)

What is John Ford saying about the rules of governance where a servant honors his master and likewise a maid her mistress? Putana has her eyes pulled out and then off she goes to the stake whereas Vasquez is simply banished. Is the secret-holder the greater offender and the one who tends to vengeance a dutiful winner? Are these the “grounds of reason”? (5.6.146). How does the role of confession, repentence and salvation enter into divine justice and the utimate sentencing?
